LEICESTER LONGWOOL SHAWL
LILY OF THE VALLEY SHAWL
in Leicester Longwool - ALANNA
This is a heavier weight, more like a sweater. Hand knit with love, right here on our farm.
Made from one of our favorite breeds of sheep here on the farm, the Leicester Longwool, which is one of the breeds of sheep that George Washington personally kept. The Leicester Longwool sheep originated from the area of their namesake, Leicestershire County, England. Making items out of this wool is a way we can preserve these rare & heritage breeds for future generations.
The last photo is of one of our Leicester ewes, Arlette, shown with her lamb.
